An offline-first architecture was essential, demanding robust data synchronization, conflict resolution, and local storage mechanisms, all while maintaining strict security and privacy standards for sensitive care data.
Care plans, interactions, alerts, and user permissions vary significantly across organizations and individuals, requiring the mobile application to handle advanced business logic locally without compromising performance or usability.

The app also needed to reflect the highly customizable nature of the Nourish platform.

Offline-first care recording

Carers can access schedules, record interactions, and update care notes without connectivity. A carefully designed synchronization system ensures data integrity and consistency once the device reconnects.

Customised interactions and personalised timelines

Each supported person has a configurable timeline driven by their individual care plan, allowing organisations to tailor interactions at every level while keeping the experience intuitive for carers.

Alerts and warnings

Manual and automated alerts highlight risks and concerns in real time, enabling carers to take appropriate action and giving managers visibility into the most critical information.

Direct messaging

Built-in messaging allows carers to communicate easily with their teams, supporting coordination, information sharing, and supervision without leaving the app.

Quick-Close tags

Time-sensitive tasks such as night checks or safety inspections can be recorded instantly through configurable tags, reducing friction in daily routines.

Advanced roles and permissions

The app supports multiple roles with different access levels and capabilities, reflecting organisational structures while enforcing permissions consistently, even offline.

Secure file handling

Carers can access documents and capture photos to add context to care interactions. Files are stored securely on the device and synchronized safely, ensuring privacy and compliance.
